Global merchant shipping industry faces choppy seas
The merchant shipping industry for containers is extremely debilitated due to the decrease in global trade. A recent study of D&B Germany shows that up to 10 percent of the global cargo sheep fleet were lying in the roads without freight during the past months. "The global container shipping industry will suffer from higher losses than the aviation industry in 2009," says Martina Neumayr, risk expert at D&B Germany.
