German payment behaviour degrades in March - D&B Payment Index declines

The economic crisis has an increasing influence on the payment behaviour in Germany. The percentage of companies that pays its bills within payment due date has decreased again in March. This is the result of a study from D&B for German newswire service dpa-AFX. The D&B payment index declined from 79.46% in February to 79.06% in March. This means that the companies monitored pay approximately four out of five invoices within due date. The indicator declined for the third time in a row. The average dwell time is 9.2 days.
